The feeling that comes with doing things - sometimes its just the small things like taking a breath or practicing yoga - that put me in a head space to be intentional as I move through my day. When I do that, I am more patient and really take in all the joy that comes with being part of a family, a circle of friends and a community.
I ran the Olympic torch relay for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter games - I carried the flame in a torch for about half a mile and then handed the flame off to the next runner. Still have the torch.
My mother’s holiday cookies (eaten by the plate, stacked with more than one of every kind - not an exaggeration).
Cooking, reading, getting back into playing the cello and piano (after years of not playing) and spending time with friends and family, especially around a table with food at a meal that goes on for hours.
Yoga puts a smile on my face! I know what you’re thinking but truly, I’m not just saying that! It happens every time, no matter what kind of headspace I’m in when I hit the mat, when I leave it, the smile is already there or it comes easier than it did before I practiced. It’s the magic - iykyk.
